The City Tour is usually the beginning of your tourist visits in Cusco, it is the contact with the Inca culture and the Wonderful city of Cusco “Navel of the World”, it lasts half a day, and allows you to visit the most important tourist attractions in the city and surroundings: the Inca Temple of the Sun “Q`orikancha,” the Inca archaeological sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q`enqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara. This tourist visit is not to be missed.
We pick you up at your hotel and head to the Q`orikancha Temple of the Sun, which currently preserves examples of Inca architecture. Then, walking for 8 minutes from the Plaza de Armas we will arrive at Q`orikancha.
The most sacred temple of the Inca culture, with spaces or enclosures dedicated to the Sun, lightning, the moon, etc. Currently it corresponds to the Christian Temple of Santo Domingo, built on the Inca walls. Here we will see the impressive Inca architecture, with finely constructed enclosures that will leave you amazed. Finishing the visit to the “Q`oricancha” we leave the city by vehicle to go to Sacsayhuamán.
An important Inca archaeological site, which is a sign of the power of the ancient Andean empire, with megalithic constructions and sacred areas that impress visitors. This is where the world-famous Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun takes place. Then we will continue to the archaeological zone of Qènqo.
Ancient Inca religious center, dedicated to the Inca gods, with stone-carved shrines and underground passages. We continue with the tour and arrive at Puca Pucara.
We continue our short trip until we reach Puca Pucara, which is a name of Quechua origin that means ‘red fortress’. Its name is due to the color of its buildings at sunset, then we pass through Tambomachay.
Finally we arrive at Tambomachay or the Water Temple, with its canals and Inca architecture, we have the presence of the famous Inca baths, still in operation, whose underground waters come from the surrounding peaks. After this visit we return to the city center, the tour ends in the main square or at your hotel.

The tour starts heading to the Q`orikancha or Temple of the Sun, according to the chronicles to enter this enclosure one had to enter on an empty stomach and barefoot, since it is considered an indigenous sanctuary, dedicated to the deities of the Sun God, the Moon, the Stars, the Rainbow, Thunder and Lightning where we will appreciate the fine work of stone technology carried out by the Incas, with the highest level of cutting in hard stone without being able to insert a sheet of paper and that despite the earthquakes remain stable to date.
After the visit to Q'orikancha we will board the transport that will take us to Sacsayhuamán located 3km from the city of Cusco, the esplanade of Sacsayhuamán Sacsayhuamán is a megalithic construction, with large limestone blocks weighing 25 to 130 tons. Made up of three terraces superimposed in a serpentine (zigzag) shape, this place, being large and spacious, served to gather people and hold different festivities such as WARACHIKUY and INTI RAYMI..
We will also arrive at Q`enqo, whose name means labyrinth, is located one kilometer from Sacsayhuamán, establishes a construction based on limestone rock that shows stone sculpture over 500 meters accompanied by structures that according to historians were used for astronomical, religious, and embalming and/or mummification studies.
Then we will know Puka Pucara, derived from two Quechua words meaning Puka (red) Pucara (fortress) “red fortress”, a strategic place for controlling and monitoring access and exit from the Imperial city of Cusco, which was used as a territorial border to divide the regions and establish displacement regimes.
As the last point of this tour, we will visit Tambomachay, a resting place, located 9 km from the city of Cusco, better known as the Inca baths for its water fountains, or also known as the waters of eternal youth, for the constant flow of its waters. Finally, we conclude our City Tour, transporting you to your respective hotel in Cusco.
