THE TOUR TO THE Q’ESWACHAKA BRIDGE AND FOUR LAGOONS, in the time of the Incas there was a large network of roads and one mainly called Qhapaq Ñan, these joined the territories of the Inca Empire to cross the rugged geography of the Andes, Hanging Bridges made of vegetable fibers were built, this complex technology has been transmitted from generation to generation and there is a single bridge that has been renewed annually to this day for more than 500 years linking the past with the future. Located on the Apurímac River at 3,700 meters above sea level, is Q'eswachaka the last Inca Hanging Bridge, where every year more than 1,000 people from four communities gather to renew their structures, this ancestral ritual was recognized in 2013 by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
