Summary Itinerary

DAY 01: CUSCO – CURAHUASI – CAPULILLOQ – SANTA ROSA – MARAMPATA

The hike to Choquequirao begins at 3:00 am with the pick-up of the group members. Once the pick-up is over, we go to Capuliyoc (approximately 4 hours trip), there you can have breakfast (not included in the price of the tour). After breakfast we will stop to buy the tickets to Choquequirao. On the way from Capuliyoq to Chiquisca you can delight in the amazing view of the Apurimac Canyon and the Padreyoc snow-capped mountain. We will start the trail with a 3-hour descent to Chiquisca, there we will have lunch and a short time to rest. Then we will continue the descent for an hour and a half until we reach Playa Rosalina (where the Apurimac River is located), which we will cross by means of a bridge. Once we reach the bridge, the trail is all uphill to Marampata (approximately 4 hours of pure uphill). Once in Marampata you will have dinner and we will spend the night in a basic local accommodation (a local house equipped as a lodging).
DAY 02: MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO – MARAMPATA

Today we are going to visit Choquequirao!!! We start the walk at 05:00 am with a boxlunch that will be given to you before starting to walk. The stretch from Marampata to Choquequirao is 4 km (2 hours approx.), we explore the impressive Archaeological Center of CHOQUEQUIRAO built in the 15th century in the Apurímac River canyon, you will have a guided tour by the guide and free time to explore, and you can also have your boxlunch on the esplanade. All this until 16:00 pm, time at which we resume the return walk to Marampata where we will have dinner.
DAY 03: MARAMPATA – CHIQUISCA – CAPULIYOC

On the third day, after breakfast, we begin the hike to Chiquisca, with a three-hour descent and one-hour ascent, crossing the Apurímac River again. We continue the ascent to Chiquisca. You will have lunch and time to rest. After lunch, we will continue the hike up to Capuliyoq, which will last approximately three hours. In Capuliyoq we will have our last dinner with time to talk about the experience and also to say goodbye to the team that accompanied us during the route.
DAY 04: CAPULIYOC – CACHORA – CUSCO

The last day begins with breakfast, this time not as early as usual on the route, to which is added a proposal from the guide to the tourists, to be able to make the journey from Capuliyoq to the town of Cachora (optional), which takes on average two hours. We board the minivan and return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 p.m.
